Recruitment – Carer Services Manager

Permanent position

Salary 36K – 38K depending on experience

Greenwich Carers Centre is situated in a grade one listed building, the old stables, next to Charlton House, in South East London.  Here we offer activities of all kinds, from social to therapeutic, and a support service providing emotional, mentoring, advocacy and signposting support to all kinds of unpaid carers.

Unpaid carers are the unsung heroes in our communities, supporting relatives, friends and neighbours, often with limited or no support, to live the best lives they can.  The support of people with dementia, learning or physical disability, mental health difficulties or substance misuse problems, by unpaid carers has been estimated to save government close to the equivalent expenditure for the whole NHS.

The stresses and strains, anxieties and frustrations inherent in the role of carer are often underestimated.  They deserve our thanks.  More importantly they deserve our support.

Our core support work is funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich and our wider community projects and activities are funded through a mixture of voluntary grant funding, income generation and donations.

Carer Services Manager is a key role within Greenwich Carers, responsible for the management of all carer support and outreach services and the service teams, including volunteers.  The role leads service delivery, is responsible for building and maintaining cross-sector partnerships, and delivers and monitors a range of statutory and non-statutory contracts. You will be working collaboratively  with the CEO, the Centre Manager, and the wider team to provide a joined up and responsive service to unpaid carers in Royal Greenwich.  If you have experience of leading teams and services, a welcoming and friendly disposition, as well as administrative and strategic development capabilities, we would love to hear from you!
